Anti-Spam Policy

Only send to people who asked to hear from you. Everything else is detail.

Who this applies to

Bush Telegraph is operated by Out West AI Pty Ltd (ABN 84 695 421 615). This policy applies to everyone who sends through the service, and it forms part of the Terms of Service.

The short version

Only send to people who asked to hear from you. That is the whole policy; everything below is detail.

Permission

Every address on your list must have given you permission to email them — by signing up, by buying something from you, by filling in a form, or by otherwise asking. Permission does not transfer: a list you bought, rented, scraped, harvested or inherited from another business is not a list you may send through us, however legitimate its original source.

What you must include

Australian law (the Spam Act 2003) requires three things of a commercial message, and we require them too:

  • Consent — the permission described above.
  • Identification — the message must make clear who sent it and how to contact you.
  • A working unsubscribe — honoured promptly, at no cost to the recipient.

We add the unsubscribe link and process opt-outs automatically. An unsubscribed contact is removed from future sends immediately; you do not have to do anything, and you cannot switch it off.

What is not allowed

  • Purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists.
  • Misleading subject lines, sender names or return addresses.
  • Sending on behalf of someone else to a list they cannot vouch for.
  • Continuing to mail an address after it has unsubscribed or complained.

How we enforce it

Hard bounces and complaints are suppressed automatically, so a bad address stops being mailed whether or not you notice. We monitor complaint and bounce rates because poor sending damages delivery for everyone on the platform, not just the sender. Where a pattern suggests a list was not opt-in, we will ask about it, and we may pause sending on the account while we do. Accounts that are plainly sending unsolicited mail are closed.

If you receive mail you did not ask for

Use the unsubscribe link in the message — it works, and it is the fastest route. If it does not, or if you believe the sender never had your permission, email support@bushtelegraph.ai with the message and we will look into it.
