The things people ask before they sign up

All of it. Campfire holds 500 contacts and sends up to 1,000 emails a month, for as long as you want it. There is no card to enter and no trial that quietly ends -- if you never need more than that, you never pay us anything.

You get stopped, not billed. Adding the contact that would take you over your plan is refused with a message telling you why. Nothing already in your account is deleted or hidden; move up a plan and carry on where you were.

Yes. Everyone signs up on Campfire, and you move up from Billing in your account settings whenever you are ready -- the new plan starts as soon as the payment goes through. To step back down or stop altogether, cancel from the billing portal: the plan you paid for keeps running until the end of that billing period, then reverts to Campfire.

No. It is month to month, cancelling is a button in your account, and we will not ask you to call anyone to do it.

By card -- Visa, Mastercard or Amex -- through Stripe, who handle the checkout. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. Invoices and receipts live in the billing portal in your account.

Any time, without asking us. Contacts export as a CSV, and survey and poll responses export the same way. Your list is yours -- we do not sell it, rent it or mail it.

No, but you do need to verify the address you send from, which takes one email. Verifying is what stops anyone sending as you, and it is a large part of why your campaigns land in the inbox rather than the spam folder.
